The teaching method should be such that it interests children and learning becomes easier for them. There are many ways of teaching out of which two are most practised:

(A) Individualistic Education
(B) Congregational Education.

What is Individualistic Education?
Individualistic education (as its name suggests) consists of the teacher teaching only one student alone at a time. If a teacher uses this method with 20 students in a span of one hour, then he will only be able to devote 3 minute to each child.

What is Congregational Education?
Congregational education (as its name suggests) consists of the teacher teaching a group of students at the same time.This helps in making optimum use of time and each student is devoted equal amount of time by the teacher.

With this method, children can be taught many things in lesser time. Schools, colleges and other madrasas practise congregational education and therefore even our maktab should.
There are countless languages spoken across the world and to learn (read, write, understand and speak) these languages, congregational method of teaching has proven useful.This method should be used for teach Arabic as well With this method of teaching, teachers can pay equal attention to all students because of which children don9t end up doing mischief.

Those children who face difficulty in learning also learn quicker when they see others studying around.
Congregational education helps in developing a competitive spirit among children.
Congregational education helps in making children confident and curbs their nervousness.
Congregational education gives children a good educational atmosphere and they learn the content in a school like surrounding.

Congregational education helps in making optimum use of time with he help of which children can be taught other important basics after the Nooraani Qaaida and Quran

Hidayat Baraaye Ustaaz.
Nizaamul Auqaat.
Jamaat Bandi.

Ta'areef aur targeeb.
Sabaq aur daur ke ayyaam.
Maahaana sawaalaat.

Qur'an padhne waale talaba ki jamaat bandi.
Ziyaada waqt dene waale talaba ki tarteeb.

Mu'allim Bachchon ko sunnaton ki targeeb dein aur nigraani karein.
Sachchi kahaaniyaan aur tarbiyati baatein.
Baaligaan ko padhaane ki tarteeb.

The regional in charge should look after the supervision of the maktab and maktabs which have male teachers, they should be taught about the method of supervision.

The aim of supervising a maktab is to strengthen the standards of the maktab and also to make sure that the syllabus is being carried out properly.
The regional in charge can easily supervise the maktab he has to, because, he resides nearby and he can attend daily.
The regional in charge can be more considerate and supervise the maktab because the students would be belonging to his locality and (may be) his family.
The supervision of the maktab is carried out by the regional in charge and as a result, the teachers also get help in standardizing the functioning of the maktab and they instinctively become more concerned about it.
If the regional in charge is contemplative about supervising the maktab, the teachers become pensive and pay attention on teaching properly.
Supervision helps in increasing the educational standards of the maktab.
Supervision helps teachers to pioneer in their work and with this the obstructions get cleared.
Supervision helps the maktabs system to function properly.
Supervision helps in completion of syllabus on time.
Supervision helps in keeping the staff of the maktab contemplative about its functioning.
Supervision helps bring out the flaws in the system of the maktab and it also helps in dealing with them.

The regional in charge should keep a check on the following things :
Is the teaching method used by the teacher aggregate?
Is the monthly syllabus complete?
The questionnaire in the end of the book should be utilized to test students monthly to check whether they remember the learnt material or not?
Are the students ticking their namaz chart properly? are students being made to practise namaz in the maktab?
Try finding out whether the students are practising whatever is being taught. if they are not practising, explain to them and encourage them so that they do what has been told.
Adults studying in the maktab should be given a qaza-e-umri chart and they should be motivated to offer their qaza namaz.
The regional in charge is responsible for keeping the environment of the maktab stable, but teachers should also help him carry out this task with ease.
The cleanliness in the maktab should be taken care of and also a check must be kept on the availability of mats/carpets, blackboards, table and other such important things. If any of these things is not available, make sure to arrange as soon as possible.
While surveying a maktab, make sure to check whether every child is wearing a uniform or not.if not, make arrangements.
Another important point while surveying a maktab is to check whether every child has a book or not.
The library should be surveyed from time to time or if any book or equipment is missing, make arrangements.
The regional in charge should maintain a student-teacher attendance register and should keep checking it regularly.
The in charge should discuss students attendance related matters with the teachers.
In case a student is leaving the maktab, discuss about it with the concerned teacher and meet the parents.

The directions which have been given for teaching are collectively called the teaching method. Teaching the right way helps children learn more in comparatively less time. In order to teach the Deeniyat syllabus the teaching method has been devised under the reflection of years of experience which has proven beneficial.

There was no any fixed time in the era of Nabi for teaching, whenever some people (Sahaba) gathered they would start learning and teaching the Deen. Generally some people gathered in group after the prayer of Fajr and would learn the Deen. Hazrat Anas said that after performing Farj Salaah, Sahaaba would sit down in different groups separately and would learn the Holy Qur'an, Faraaidh and the Sunnah of Nabi . [Musnad abu y'ala : 4088]

Sometime Nabi himself would go through educational assemblies and asked: What are you doing? Once some poor migrated Sahaaba were learning Qur'an, Nabi went to them and asked: What were you doing? They replied: One person was reciting Qur'an and we were listening, Nabi said: All praise is due to Allah, who created in my Ummah those people about whom I was ordered to sit with them.After saying this, Nabi sat down with those people.
